I'm not sure if the birds ate from the ornaments but they did eat the seeds that fell/crumbled to the ground. I know my Border Collie/German Shepherd Dog/mutt mix (1 year) liked them; she ate some of them (don't worry, the seeds went through with no problems, haha). I also think the squirrels, Frick and Frack, ate some too. I figured Frick and Frack would eat some and thought it would be a gift to them from my dear departed Aussie Shepherd mix; they loved to pester him and he would chase them or bark at them. Our Border Collie mutt isn't interested in them; she's more into tormenting our two 12 year old cats.<br /><br />I will make these again. Would you mind sharing the new recipe and let me know if it worked for you. Maybe I used too much corn syrup or didn't let the dry long enough. I have made two batches and would like to try the new recipe on the 3rd... Thanx so much. We live in a rainforest climate, and my idea is to gift these with a square piece of cardboard in the package, which will act as the 'tag'. On the tag I'll write 'keep this treat dry and cool' and then there will be a hole in the centre of the cardboard. They can thread twine/ribbon through the hole before they hang it, and it'll be like a little roof for the ornament, to wad off at least some of the rain. :)Caelenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02618333914148191495noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-307668006146733250.post-28856346713941263342013-11-25T06:53:27.652-08:002013-11-25T06:53:27.652-08:00wow what a good idea i love it wow what a good idea i love it Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-307668006146733250.post-1932085352609230932013-11-18T10:14:36.629-08:002013-11-18T10:14:36.629-08:00Love this!!

It worked great. Also as I was watching the birds I saw that when I put them on a bare tree they had trouble getting to the ornaments to eat them. I like the idea of slipping them on the branch directing or I put them on a pine tree so they were easier to get to - the branches were close enough together for them to perch and eat them.yogamamahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02561110304439278085noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-307668006146733250.post-23073786258014525082012-12-28T15:04:02.071-08:002012-12-28T15:04:02.071-08:00Thank You for posting this...
